Rebel Girls and Starlight Team Up to Empower Hospitalized Children

Starlight’s mission is to deliver happiness to hospitalized children and their families. Through our programs, kids are empowered to endure the challenges of hospitalization with courage and confidence. 

Stars aligned when Starlight partnered up with Rebel Girls, a multi-platform empowerment brand dedicated to helping raise the most inspired and confident generation of girls. Rebel Girls has donated over 25,000 toys, books, and games to Starlight over the past three years. This year Rebel Girls is also donating over 200 hardcover books titled Immigrant Women Who Changed the World.

The toys, books, and games Rebel Girls generously provides to Starlight are some of the resources distributed to our national network of over 800 children’s hospitals and medical facilities. These donated items brighten tough days for kids, helping to fight hospital-room boredom with curiosity, creativity and play! 

Not only has Rebel Girls donated toys, books and games to sick kids, but they funded 1,000 custom Starlight Hospital Gowns for hospitalized kids as well. The bespoke Starlight Hospital Gown integrated the Rebel Girls’ brand into the design. For the hospitalized kids who wear it, fear transforms into courage, inspiring confidence and strength to help them remain resilient.

In addition to providing courage and comfort, the Rebel Girls gown also features a QR code which leads to educational and boredom-busting resources and activities including journal prompts, an introduction to coding and writing a business prompt. 

The impact we make with Rebel Girls spans across the nation, with distribution of crucial resources to kids in children’s hospitals across the US. Still, our work is not done.
