Making an Incredible Impact with a Passionate Community
Charity streamer Amish_Ace’s story is simple: he is that LEGO guy.
He joined the Stream for Starlight Family in 2022 when he discovered an alignment with his values and Starlight’s mission to support the emotional and mental wellbeing of seriously ill kids.
The Power of Gaming and Distraction
As a passionate gamer, Amish_Ace is aware of the power of gaming and the distraction and joy it can bring. He shares his personal experience:
“... my parents had got me this kitten that I had from second grade through college. And then when I had to put her down, that was really tough. I was really depressed. Video games got me through that ... so I thought that what Starlight did was really cool, bringing that [gaming] to children in hospitals because they're going through a tough time.”
Though Amish_Ace does not have personal experience with children’s hospitals, he says, “... if I can help in any way, I will do my best to do that through fundraising, through Starlight.” He understands how Starlight’s programs make an immense impact:
“With what Starlight does, it [their programs] dramatically make a difference in these kids’ lives. You know, alleviating anxiety and stress, not just for the kids, but also for the parent."
As a father of two daughters, Amish_Ace understands parents’ feelings to provide any type of relief for their kids, sharing:
“If my child was ever in that position, I would want to do everything in my power to make them as comfortable as possible and want to see them happy if they have to undergo some scary treatment.”
Charity Streams: Making a Difference
With over 9,200 followers on Twitch, Amish_Ace and his community, The Acolytes, have fundraised more than $40,000 for hospitalized kids and their families over seven different campaigns. “It's amazing to be a part of such an awesome community that wants to make a difference like that too,” says Amish_Ace.
When asked what Stream for Starlight means to him, Amish_Ace said, “because I have the ability to reach an audience like I can, I feel that if I can make a difference there, that I should.”

Some of Amish_Ace’s favorite charity stream moments include dancing in lime green Tik Tok leggings in front of 10,000 people on Twitch and the first time his team was able to fundraise over $10,000 for Starlight. He reflects on that time:
“And that just seems crazy to me, you know? I mean, you can come together and do that [fundraise over $10,000 for charity], especially during that time of year [the holidays] too, you know, people are sometimes struggling. You know, they might not be well off financially or there's gifts for friends, family, what not. It was just really amazing to accomplish that.”
In 2023, Amish_Ace grew his impact by becoming a Stream for Starlight Ambassador for the 2023-2024 season. During his time as an ambassador, he represented Starlight and participated in activations including the $50K to MAR10 Day Raid Train stream leading up to Spring Stream (2024), leading the fundraising efforts for the inaugural May the 4th Star Wars – themed stream, and raising over $9,000 during the 2023 12 Days of Streaming campaign.
“It was just really, really an honor and a privilege to be able to have that [role as an ambassador] and tell people that and also spread awareness to others about Starlight, because of that role, too.”
Although Amish_Ace’s time as an ambassador has ended, his enduring impact continues. Amish_Ace was 1 of the top 3 fundraisers of 2023. Because of this, along with his commitment, creativity, and passion, he was chosen for one of Starlight’s 2024 Content Creators of the Year awards.

Big or Small, You Can Make an Impact
Amish_Ace offers encouragement for like-minded individuals who want to make a difference:
“ ... if you are a streamer and you want to get involved, whether it's a few dollars you raise or a few thousands, it helps. It makes a difference.”
At the same time, Amish_Ace understands hesitancy and fear one might feel fundraising for charity on Twitch:
“I think it's the fear of not meeting their expectations or living up to expectations or comparing their performance to others, which I know we do as content creators all the time, even though we tell ourselves not to. You know, but we all have to start somewhere.”
He shares that having the support of a team really helps, especially for content creators just starting out with raising money for charity.
“I think that really helps so that you can go to someone or you have that person you can raid to or another streamer raiding to keep the flow going and just keep the vibe and that positive atmosphere up.”
“I love the organization and what they do and the stories that come out of what Starlight is doing. And so I'll always be an advocate for Starlight and their mission.”
